FINNISH YOUTH IN SWEDEN
FYS is a religiously and politically unbound bilingual youth organization. It was founded 1993 to look after the interests of children and youth of the Finnish minority in Sweden. The organization also supports participation in international exchanges and co- operation’s.
FYS organizes nation-wide events, courses, seminars and trips to Finland and also other parts of Europe. The main part of our activities is in Finnish, but Swedish is used when necessary.
FYS Has member clubs all over Sweden from Umeå in the north to Malmö in the south. These clubs organize various different activities, among others, sports, theatre, bands and movie nights. FYS also has Finnish University student clubs as members, which organize activities for students.
FYS supports the activities of the member clubs financially by distributing different kinds of grants. The member clubs can also get information and help with practical problems from the office that is located in Stockholm.
